In 1831, Captain William Driver of Salem, Massachusetts received a treasured American flag from friends on a voyage. When it first caught the sea breeze he cried out, “Old Glory!” — a name that stuck. Years later, after retiring to Nashville in 1837, he kept that cherished banner close to heart.
Our Old Glory Tactical Flag honors that legacy. We’ve reimagined the original 24-star standard into a full 50-star, weathered-antique flag with a handcrafted distressed finish that blends historical warmth with contemporary design. More than wall art, this piece conceals a secure compartment behind the flag door — perfect for discreet, responsible home-defense storage.
Handmade by Southern Yankee Woodworking, the Old Glory Tactical Flag is a long-standing favorite among patriotic customers who want meaningful décor that’s both beautiful and functional.

He retired to Nashville in 1837, taking his treasured flag from his sea days with him. While Capt.
